Treated Pine Decks

Best Value Per Foot

Pressure-treated pine is the most cost-effective way to build a strong deck. It’s readily available, installs efficiently, and delivers excellent value—especially for larger decks, stairs, and full rebuilds. Like any treated lumber, boards will dry and shrink over time, which can lead to cracking, splitting, or minor warping. Routine maintenance helps protect the surface, improve long-term performance, and keep the deck looking sharp. Plan on cleaning as needed and applying a stain or wood preservative every two or three years.

To keep it looking sharp and extend its lifespan, plan on simple routine maintenance:

  • Clean or power wash as needed
  • Apply a stain or wood preservative every 2–3 years

Benefits

  • Affordable
  • Strong and Reliable
  • Readily Available
  • Best Value Per Foot

Cedar Decks

Premium Look & Naturally Durable

Cedar is a premium deck material known for its natural beauty and dimensional stability. It stays straighter and flatter than many other woods, making it less likely to warp, cup, or twist—especially on exposed surfaces like deck boards and railings. Cedar naturally resists rot and insect damage, and it’s comfortable underfoot in summer heat. Left unfinished, cedar will weather to a silver-gray. If you want to preserve the original color and extend the “new deck” look, we recommend using a quality stain. Cedar typically costs more than treated pine, but many homeowners prefer the cleaner finish and long-term appearance.

Benefits

  • Beautiful
  • Naturally Resists Rot and Insects
  • Stable and Stays Straighter
  • Comfortable Underfoot

Composite Decks

Low Maintenance & Built for the Long Run

Composite decking is the go-to choice for homeowners who want long-term performance with minimal maintenance. It won’t splinter, and it resists fading, staining, and moisture far better than most wood options. Composite costs more upfront, but it can pay off over time by reducing ongoing maintenance and delivering a consistent, finished look year after year. Composite decks are especially popular for high-traffic decks, pool areas, and outdoor living spaces where you want clean lines and a durable surface. We build composite decks with proper framing, spacing, and fastening so they stay solid, drain correctly, and look sharp.

To keep it looking great, maintenance is simple:

  • Occasional soap-and-water cleaning
  • Rinse debris from gaps to support drainage

Benefits

  • Low Maintenance
  • Resists Splintering and Rot
  • Consistent Color and Finish
  • Great Long-Term Value

Deck Building Process

We keep the process simple, professional, and predictable. You’ll know what’s happening, what’s included, and what the next step is.

  1. Quick Estimate
Send your address (or neighborhood), a few photos of the current area, and an approximate deck size (or we can measure). Include your preferred material, railing needs, stairs, and any special features.
  2. On-Site Measure & Layout
We confirm measurements, elevation/height, stairs, railing layout, drainage, and any demolition needs. If the deck attaches to the home, we verify proper attachment details and the best layout for the space.
  3. Permits (If Required)
If your city requires a permit, we handle the permit process so the project stays compliant and on schedule.
  4. Utility Locate Before Digging
Before any footing work, we contact the local utility locate service (Digger Hotline) and wait for utilities to be marked for safety.
  5. Demo & Removal Setup (If Needed)
If removal is included, we arrange debris handling—typically by placing a dumpster on the property for clean and efficient haul-away.
  6. Footings & Framing
We install footings and build a strong, level frame with proper spacing and hardware so the deck stays solid and performs long-term.
  7. Decking, Railings & Finish
We install deck boards, railings, and stairs with clean alignment and safe, consistent spacing, then complete a final walkthrough and cleanup.
